MF Highlight Translate Privacy Policy

This page applies only to the MF Highlight Translate Chrome extension. See the MetaForge site privacy policy for https://www.metaforge.cn.

1. Data processed

  • Webpage text that you actively select for translation.
  • Local extension settings such as target language, selected model, and enabled state.
  • An API key entered by you and stored in local browser extension storage.

2. Purpose

The data is used only to provide selected-text translation, return translation results, and remember your extension preferences.

3. Data transfer

When you request a translation, the selected text is sent over HTTPS to the model service you configured. The default supported service includes the OpenAI API at https://api.openai.com/*. Data is not sold to third parties.

4. Storage and security

  • Settings and API keys are stored in chrome.storage.local.
  • The extension does not load remote executable JavaScript or WebAssembly.
  • Network requests use HTTPS.

5. Your controls

  • Change or clear your API key from the extension options page.
  • Disable translation or uninstall the extension at any time.
  • Clear extension data through browser settings to remove locally stored information.

6. Updates

Policy changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
